If you are among the many affected by the closure of crossing points, we would like to hear your story!

March 2020 marks an interesting development in Cypriot history and cross-communal relations. For the first time since 2003, crossings between the two parts of the island came almost to a halt, due to the regulations put in place by the local authorities to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The regulations made crossing between the north and the south parts of Cyprus difficult, at times impossible, affecting communities’ access to education, healthcare, public services, and their jobs. The closure had a critical impact on the lives of many people and especially on those who used to travel across the existing divide on a regular or even everyday basis.

Acting on this, the Home for Cooperation developed a new mini-documentary project, to voice the stories of those affected from the closure of crossing points, and shed light to the connections it disrupted, from family relations to health, from education to work life.
