<p>The HAVING THEIR SAY photo exhibition, mainly aiming to use art as a means of generating creative reactions, invites the youth of Cyprus, between the ages of 15 to 25, to participate in an online photo competition that will be active from the 10th of November to the 20th of December 2014. Their photographs will be uploaded on the official facebook page of the exhibition, thus creating an online space for expression, communication and experiential learning, having the young participants as the carriers of this process of thinking and contemplation. The participants should send up to three [3] pictures to havingtheirsay@gmail.com including their first name- last name- age- contact detail- photo title or a small comment on the idea behind the images. A jury of established photographers and academics will review the material and two [2] winners will be awarded with scholarships in the fields of photography and art at a closing ceremony on the 15th of February 2015. The presentation of the photographs of the five countries in direct dialogue with the photographs of the youth of Athens, Thessaloniki and Cyprus that corresponded to the OPEN CALL, aims to form a core of dialogue capable of revealing the constant and intense presence of young people in space, their need to reflect themselves through space, their desire to participate in social processes, to feel responsible by taking action. The EEA and Norway Grants, aiming at reducing social and economic disparities in the whole EEA, sponsors the exhibition and curates the event so as to make the project a starting point for further discussions, debates, action and fruitful young ideas.
