What's Revealed?

19:30 – Presentation of the projects
21:00 – Party with Dj NiKoulla P. Katsikoronou & Radio Pangea - Music Unites The World at The Home Cafe

The time has come to present the last two projects of the Small Projects Programme series supported and funded by the Home for Cooperation (H4C) through Norway Grants. What’s On and the Old Nicosia Revealed Photo Competition were two of the ten small projects chosen to contribute to communal cooperation in Cyprus, and now they are ready to make their debut with a special event called "What's Revealed?"

What's On (www.whatson.com.cy) is a online events guide and aims to extend different forms of cooperation to each level of everyday life in a united Cyprus. It provides a digital platform with no borders, where people of Cyprus can share the events and activities they organise, as well as follow what is going on across the island. The H4C believes that culture is an organism that transcends physical borders, the arts, music, sports, religions, social movements, cuisine, fashion, languages, expressions, and many, many others. In other words, the ways of production and consumption of culture are shared practices that we all perform and create together in ways that are specific to the island of Cyprus. In that sense, What’s On is not just an online event guide, but a meaningful initiative for everyone to start living together with the common vision of a united Cyprus through art and culture; an alternative platform to communicate with artists, organisers, activists and the public in general.

Old Nicosia Revealed implemented the project of the Old Nicosia Photo-Souvenirs Competition with the aim to encourage people to explore their city together, ask questions, and learn different aspects of its rich history and culture that go a step further than our everyday view of the city. This was achieved by involving admirers of the old town of Nicosia who were able to express their own view of the city through photography. In the event, the winning photos will be exhibited, as well as the photos that have been used in the design found on the souvenirs. The souvenirs will be available to purchase and the revenue will be used by the H4C (a non-profit, non-governmental organization) to develop cooperation at each level of social life through alternative cultural educational programmes in Cyprus.
